戰地金門沙灘上的神速雙矛戰甲-角眼沙蟹
金門四面環海,然而長期受到軍事管制封鎖海岸線,造成海岸成為金門居民無法接觸的神秘地區,因此得以保留珍貴、原始的自然生態環境,形成擁有豐富海濱生態資源的寶庫,近年來金門逐漸褪去戰地的神秘面紗後,挖花蛤、淨灘、散步、觀夕陽、烤肉等活動讓海岸逐漸成為居民的休閒場域,2006年7月間本校學區溪邊海水浴場的營運開設,海水浴場上的沙灘車、水上摩托車、香蕉船滿足了遊客的玩心,對於沙灘上原住民帶來的影響卻無人關心,2012年研究今日海水浴場已關場倒閉,給予沙灘生物喘息療養的機會,因此有機會挑選沙灘上的角眼沙蟹,針對其構造、行為、雌雄辨別、棲息環境等進行觀察研究,讓我們一起探索這個偉大奧妙的生物寶庫吧!

我家菜園種了許多紅鳳菜,因此我最喜歡吃紅鳳菜。紫紅色的湯顏色美麗,味道更好。一天,媽媽又煮紅鳳菜了,正當全家人吃得津津有味的時候;一向頑皮的妹妹不小心竟把桌上的白醋弄翻了,白醋流進了紅鳳菜盤裹。唉!多可惜!一盤美味可口的紅鳳菜竟這樣報銷了。正當我悶悶不樂的時候,我忽然發現原本紫紅色的菜湯,竟然變成紅色,多奇妙呀!記得老師常跟我們說:「一個學生要能運用頭腦、多想、多實驗才是好學生。」於是我把這個奇妙的問題請教老師。老師說:「除了紅鳳菜會變色外,還有沒有其他的問題?」這時張同學說:「我家種了川七,川七水也是紫紅色,川七水也會發色嗎?」為了想知道這二個答案,我們全班同學在老師的指導下,展開了以下二項實驗。

雲嘉南地區土壤分佈及水份蒸發速率之測定
生活在科技突飛猛進的時代,人類已愈來愈關切每天生活的環境。嘉南平原是台灣富庶地區,食糧作物、經濟作物種類很多,如稻米、甘藷、甘蔗、花生及蔬菜等。各地區由於士壤質地不同而作物有另別。土壤質地與士壤水分有很大關係,而水分影響作物生長尤甚。土壤中水分向地面蒸發,是土壤水分的損失,故不同的士質其蒸發速率如何?如何防止土壤水分的喪失?值得加以調查研究。調查地域:濁水溪以南,曾文溪以北的嘉南平原地區。

Carbon nanotubes as efficient nanosieve for controlled assembly of nanoparticles
In this work, techniques to explore the capabilities of multi-walled carbon nanotubes\r (MWNTs) in sorting nanoparticles (NPs) were presented. A droplet of a solution comprising of quantum dots (QDs) with various sizes was deposited on an aligned array of intertwined MWNTs. Photoluminescence (PL) and fluorescence microscopy (FM) revealed that MWNTs were effective nano-sieves that could effectively sort out QDs with a size difference of ~ 2.1 nm.\r Cadmium Selenide/Zinc Sulfide (CdSe/ZnS)core-shell QDs and Cadmium Sulfide (CdS) QDs were used to explore whether chemical properties of NPs affect the sieving capability of MWNTs. Further investigation on the effects of micro-patterning on the sieving ability of MWNTs was also carried out.PL and FM results suggested that micro-patterning could aid in separation of QDs and thus improve sieving capability of MWNTs. With the above findings, QDs emitting different colors as a result of size difference could efficiently be assembled onto the MWNTs en route to three-dimensional architectures with controlled assembly of NPs.\r Together with controlled laser power to remove desired amounts of QDs decorated MWNTs, a multi-colored display could be achieved. Further experiments were also carried out to determine the feasibility of introducing MWNTs as filters for NPs. Dilute solutions containing NPs such as gold colloid was run through these MWNTs filters by gravity. Field emission scanning electron microscope (FESEM) images of the samples showed that MWNTs were successful in trapping the nanoparticles. Explorations into the length dependent effect of using MWNTs as filters, suggested that 300μm MWNTs are better nano-sieves compared to 50μm MWNTs.

A Zero Pollution Process That Convert Non-Biodegradable Plastic Waste Into Hydrocarbon Fuel
Non-biodegradable waste materials like discarded polybags, rubber bottles, broken buckets and sachet water bags constitute a serious environmental problem all over the world. Several steps have been taken to eliminate these waste materials. Burning of these non-biodegradable waste in an incineration only constitute environmental pollution as poisonous gases are release to the environment which are hazardous to lives. The purpose of developing this catalytic conversion of non-biodegradable waste material into fuel is to remove the problem non-biodegradable waste materials poses in its disposal as well as obtaining a precious end product that will supplement fuel supply. Dump side lands that would have been used for dumping waste is also reclaimed. The procedure and chemistry is from the fact that Non-biodegradable waste materials are composes of long chain hydrocarbon. Some are made of polymeric units like polythene. The materials are heated in a closed vessel with coal and a catalyst. Heating is done progressively until condensate from gaseous product is obtained. This condensate is wide range of liquid fuel (Diesel and petrol) including LPG ranges. Further separation processing will give pure product of the different fuel liquids. The Apparatus consist of a cylindrical cooking vessel heated by coal furnace or other heat source like LPG, the vessel is made of steal. The upper side of the vessel provide an outlet vent to connect condensing section/condenser which is required for the conversion of gaseous form of product into liquid state. The fuel produce can find it application in the following areas; Heating of kiln in the cement company, Heating of boilers and Domestic lighting.

看了中華兒童科學畫刊第七期有「礎潤而雨」傳說的介紹,知道我們祖先很早就會以這種現象預測氣象的變化;但為什麼有這種現象,又為什麼礎石才能顯出濕潤而木頭顯不出來?為了明白這種現象請老師指導我們試驗研究。

在國一時,楊維哲教授出了一張中區數理資優生數學競試題,其中有一題─給一個三角形 ABC,(甲)假定P是線段上點,求作一直線,經過P點且平分這三角形。(乙)假定P是延長線上的一點,考慮同樣的問題。記得當時僅能作出假設P是中點,就能二等分△ABC,其餘均無法解答。至目前學了幾何,所學漸多,乃聯合同學有心突破此題。

在一個晴朗的下午,爸爸從美國出差回來,帶回了一包“粉”,這包“粉”若調成飽和度溶液,再放入石頭,就會結出漂亮但很小的結晶。好奇心驅使之,我把結晶帶給老師看,老師鼓勵我們看能不能找出其他物質也能結出漂亮的晶體。於是,我們成立研究小組,展開一連串的研究實驗。

物理實驗中,測試轉速以機械式轉動開縫圓盤,當圓盤轉速與轉體轉速同步時,轉體呈現靜止態,此種方法缺點極多,如圓盤轉速控制不易,其以要先知道圓盤轉速才可得知測體之轉速。本同步儀即利用上述基本原理,唯完全以電予式自動控制,其中轉盤代以電子速閃頻、速度可任意控制,同時並測出閃光頻率經換算成RPM 值,也就是說上述之轉盤速度可任意控制兼而同時顯示出轉盤速度可任意,因此只要簡單的旋轉旋扭及波段開關即可迅速的將轉體速度直接以速字顯示出來,精確度達四位數,非一般類比同步儀可比擬。

歡迎光臨不打烊無邊界博物館—「大地生態導覽系統」的建立與應用
此次研究透過一種新的嘗試,建立一套原則上應用於可無限擴充空間範圍(地球地面)且不限時間的導覽系統,利用全球衛星定位系統將解說目標物(以木本植物為主)所在點之座標做為導覽資訊的一組索引值,透過「區塊解說」與「定點解說」兩種策略連結至解說內容(圖文、影音檔案),配合「委眾策略」(crowdsourcing)與行動科技設備的運用,一種不打烊無邊界的博館—「大地生態導覽系統」於焉誕生!
